His practice focuses on business and transactional tax planning, including acquisitions and dispositions, partnership and LLC structures, real estate transactions, and other complex business and investment matters. He advises clients on structuring transactions to take advantage of specific provisions of the Internal Revenue Code and other tax rules, with a focus on practical strategies that align with business and financial objectives.
Mariano also represents taxpayers in tax controversies involving the IRS and state taxing authorities, including federal tax examinations, administrative appeals, collection matters, and tax litigation.
